She had one boy!
In early October we bred our girl Trixie (Homerbrent Beatrix) to Ch. Lovejoy Cheers. This stud comes to us from Texas breeder Mary Madaan and has just been heart cleared at 5 1/2 years old. We are very excited about this breeding since our girl Fefe came from this sire. Below you will find pictures of the Mom and Dad, a link to the pedigree of the puppies, and details about our adoption process.
For more information on the sire, you can visit his page here.

Availability: We are now taking both show and pet deposits on the puppies. There is a maximum of 1 show deposits and 1 pet deposits available. The order in which we are/were contacted about a person's interest is the order in which that home will have choice of a puppy.
Deposit Process: Show homes have first priority followed by pet homes. We allow both show and pet deposits on all puppies (meaning there will be a maximum of 1 show deposits and 1 pet deposits for this litter). Deposits must be received within 10 calendar days of the individual's original date of contact or once they are born, whichever is later. A deposit holds a person’s place in line for a puppy and is applied towards the purchase price of the puppy. Deposits are $500 for a pet and $1,000 for a show pup. Specific puppies must be chosen between 6 to 8 weeks of age, no reservations will be allowed before this time. According to a person's place in line, show homes will pick their puppy first, then if there are fewer show homes interested then there are puppies (which will most likely be the case), then the first person in line for a pet puppy will have first choice of the remaining puppies and so on. Once all of the available puppies are taken the remaining deposits are applied as backup deposits on the “show” puppies. These backup deposits are there if a “show” home chooses that a puppy didn’t “turn out” and they no longer want the puppy. If that occurs, the show home receives their deposit back and the home with the first backup deposit will now get the newly available puppy. Any home with a backup deposit that does not get a puppy will receive their deposit back once all puppies are sold. Deposits on available puppies not claimed (in other words, canceled orders) are non-refundable. Please contact us before sending any funds.

Pricing: Pricing for each breeding is different due to the cost varying. We try to keep things reasonable and simply try to recoup our costs. For this litter “pet quality” pups will be $1,800 and “show potential” pups will be $3,500. If there are travel arrangements that need to be made, we only charge the actual transportation costs (i.e. gas, flight, actual taxes paid, etc. - no additional fees for handling and the like).
When they can go home: Depending on the puppy and if the puppy will be picked up or shipped, we let puppies go "home" around 8 to 14 weeks of age. We health guarantee our pups for 5 years from any genetic defect and take pride in producing pups that follow the AKC standard for type (or physical structure) and personality.
Registration: Pet pups will be sold with an AKC limited registration and a spay/neuter agreement. This means your pup will be registered with an AKC limited registration and must be spayed or neutered. AKC limited registration means the AKC will not recognize any litters produced by the dog. It is also against your contract to breed a "pet quality" cavalier.
Show pups will be sold with a full AKC registration. We ask show homes to agree to actually show their show dog. We do not require the dog to be "finished" but we do ask that the show home make an effort to "finish out" the dog. We do not require puppies back or co-ownership.
All homes are asked to keep in contact and send us pictures of their pups at least once a year.
Registration Rationale: Cavalier registration has been an area of much controversy. Most breeders have strong feelings about how their dogs are to be registered. Much thought and consideration has gone into us making the decision to register as we do.
When we first wanted to get started in showing and ultimately breeding cavaliers we approached several breeders from our surrounding area. After several emails and phone calls we found no one willing to sell a show pup to a home that hadn't shown before. We then asked how someone wanting to show cavaliers could even get started . . . we are still waiting for an answer on that. We were stuck. We didn't know what to do, or where to turn to. Sometime later, as I was reading up on cavaliers and their history I came upon a few kennels that were credited with establishing, promoting, and improving the cavalier breed. One in particular, Homerbrent, was praised with greatly improving the health of the cavalier breed. It was at that point we decided that if we were going to get into cavaliers we were going to do it right. Our "About Us" page tells most of the rest of the story, but basically, after a few years, we were blessed with a Homerbrent puppy of our very own. Now, years later, we have cavaliers that we are very proud of. We are now also starting to breed ourselves. Which brings us to the question of how do we deal with people who want to show our dogs? Having the experiences we have had the answer came very natural. First, we will screen all families interested in a puppy from us. Second, we will analyze all homes for what puppy best fits their situation. Third, we will develop a relationship with all of our puppy families. And finally, after all of that, we will have to trust people at their word, just as Molly Coaker of Homerbrent Cavaliers did with us. As with all plans, this one is not perfect. But we believe it to be the only way we can balance our puppy's safety and well-being and still allow others, like us, to have an opportunity to own and show beautiful healthy cavaliers.
